The highly anticipated “The Kennedys”, an eight part mini-series has no home at the moment. The History Channel which was going to air ir, decided not to pick it up. They released a statement saying, “While the film is produced and acted with the highest quality, after viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded this dramatic interpretation in not fit for the History brand.”
The show was considered not historical accurate enough for the channel.
“The Kennedys” is still set to air internationally, but not in the United States? The producers are hoping to pitch the show to a different channel such as Showtime.

Well since finals are coming to a close, I can focus on what’s really important… movies and television. Oh, and I guess family and friends count too.
Below are all of this year’s nominees… In the coming weeks before the January 16th award show, I will discuss my favorites and who will probably win.
The list comes from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association website (http://www.goldenglobes.org/nominations/)

Well, my mom is going to be disappointed. Jillian Michaels, the hardcore trainer from “The Biggest Loser” will finish out her contract with one last season of the “Biggest Loser”.
Michaels tweeted to her followers “ I want to take a year off TV and focus on becoming a mommy and doing more charity work.”
Michaels has only missed one season of “The Biggest Loser” and let me tell you that was not a good season. Is there anyone to match Jillian? What will Bob do now? “The Biggest Loser” has a been a huge success for NBC. The question is will it continue to be after one of their star trainers has left?

School has been keeping me so busy and crazed that I hadn’t realized that “Psych” is coming back…tonight!
After last season’s mid-finale… I know the rest of the season is going to be awesome! Fellow “Shule” fans can agree upon that.
Pineapple for all! Psych airs at 10 PM on USA. Characters Welcome. (I had to say it, it’s out of habit from watching it)

In my article for the Chronicle this week, I forgot to mention the NBC shows that were giving themselves a black and orange makeover. They all so happened to be on Thursday night.
I was only able to watch the Shrek Special “Scared Shrekless” and “Community”
For “Scared Shrekless” I’m just gonna say I’m a big kid so I enjoyed it immensely. It had the same theme of the Christmas Shrek episode where Shrek and the gang told different holiday themed stories. This time however Shrek and the gang returned to Lord Farquaad’s deserted castle to see who could tell the scariest stories.
For “Community” I watched it because I had nothing else to watch. I was kinda glad I had nothing to watch. I don’t know when I laughed more. I loved Joel McHale’s costume: going as David Beckham. So let’s carry around a soccer ball and wear an expensive suit! This Halloween episode just made me want to watch more of “Community”
You can find full episodes of “Community”, “Outsourced” and “The Office” on NBC.com.
“Scared Shrekless” repeats this Saturday at 8 pm.

“30 Rock” went live for the first time tonight. That’s always a test for t.v. shows. Can the actors remember their lines? Can they control themselves? Can sets be changed quickly enough? Can the crew handle this timed setup?
Let’s just say “30 Rock” was interesting live. The first thing my family and I noticed was that it looked like “SNL” and not in a good way. We were used to seeing the film processed in a certain way to adhere to T.V. taped format, not live. I understand. I really do. I know how hard it is to do something under time pressure, but still something was a little worse than “SNL”.
Here’s the main one: One of the camera operators ( most likely steadicam from my brief stint in film, I mean really brief) was very shaky. The shakiness distracted me from the format of the show. I understand that it was necessary to use the steadicam for the quick movement, but I don’t think I have to explain myself further. It was awkward probably for both the viewers and the operators.
The second one: The laugh track and the live audience or whatever the combination was. It was just different because I wasn’t used to it. Normally you just have your laughter to deal with, not 50 other people. It threw me off from enjoying the show. Sometimes there was so much laughter, you had no idea what Jack was telling Liz vice versa.
How they one “up”ed “SNL”: The actors knew their lines. They didn’t have a real necessity for cue cards from what I could tell. Though I believe Tina Fey was carrying their script around as a TGS script prop for Liz Lemon. Just a guess though.
I did enjoy all the guest appearance including Matt Damon, Bill Hader, Julia Louis Dreyfus, etc….
It was a good episode, but I’ll be happy to have my normal “30 Rock” next week.

One reason why I Iove Dexter? The music! I love the spanish feel, but I also love the eerie sound reminiscent of Danny Elfman music.
This track is called Epilogue: Bloodroom. I believe this is from Season One.
Composer is Daniel Licht.

Remember the “Friends” theme song? Of course you do…
“I’ll be there for you (when the rain starts to pour)
I’ll be there for you (like I’ve been there before)
I’ll be there for you (because you’re there for me too)”
Apparently the lyrics aren’t true for Courtney Cox and David Arquette. The two have filed for separation or have at least publicly admitted to being separated. In their statement, they state they have been separated for a while now. They had been married for eleven years. They currently have one six-year-old daughter, Coco.

The couple has released a statement saying, “We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.”

On a happier note when it comes to the “Friends” cast, David Schwimmer married photographer and long time girlfriend, Zoe Buckman. Like Cox’s and Arquette’s separation which had been a secret for a while, so had Schwimmer’s marriage. He and Buckman had gotten married in a private ceremony in June.

Hopefully David Schwimmer can outlast the “Friends” curse of divorce.
First there was the Jennifer Aniston’s divorce that continues until this day even though it happened in 2005 (that long ago, really?) and then Matt Leblanc’s divorce in 2006. Matthew Perry is the only “Friend” not to have been married.

The Walking Dead: The main event. The panel included “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman, director and executive producer Frank Darabont, and cast members Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden and Steven Yeun. However, before the panel even began, the moderator came out and introduced a clip from the show: the first 6 minutes of the second episode. After an initial wave of confusion, the lights dimmed and hordes of zombies invaded the giant screen. Even from the first few seconds of the clip, as the camera reveals an aerial view of a city block infested with the undead, the audience knew this was something special. And it really is: a television show based on a comic book centered around the zombie apocalypse from the director of The Shawshank Redemption. The lights come up and the first words uttered, from the lips of creator Robert Kirkman, are “are there any doubts left?” The crowd let out a resounding NO.

The DC Booth: Throughout both days at NYCC, DC’s top artists gathered at DC Comics’ area (dead smack in the middle of the showroom floor) to sketch and sign commissioned character designs. The best part? All the sketches were free.

Focus Features’ Hanna: Starring Eric Bana (Star Trek, Incredible Hulk) and Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Lovely Bones), Hanna will be this spring’s sleeper hit. The film, directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice), tells the story of a little girl who has been trained from a very early age to be the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity. At Comic Con, Wright screened a few clips from the film that revealed a tightly-wound thriller with underpinnings of fairy tale-esque surrealism.

Spotlight on the women of Battlestar Galactica: While the discussion chiefly focused on the progressiveness of the show in eliminating gender stereotypes, this panel remained both lighthearted and fun. Tricia Helfer (Number 6) and Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck), who are actually best friends in real life, spoke about their new company Acting Outlaws, an unusual charity in which Helfer and Sackhoff ride across the country on motorcycles in order to raise both funds and awareness for various relief efforts. Also in the odd department, Michelle Forbes (who played the heart-eating demon on True Blood) revealed that she was a vegan environmentalist/pacifist. Not very shocking, per se, but certainly ironic given the nature of her character.

Nikita: I already wrote a review of the show, but it needs to be stressed that this show is one of the best new shows this fall, if not the best. Along with creator and executive producer Craig Silverstein, cast members Shane West, Maggie Q, and Lyndsy Fonseca presented a ton of new footage from upcoming episodes including a scene in which Alex (Fonseca) is captured and tortured by a group of terrorists seeking revenge on Division.
The cosplay: Walking around the floor and seeing so many different people in so many different costumes is easily one of the best parts of any comic convention.

One attendee dressed as a contestant from Legends of the Hidden Temple…

An intricate Master Chief costume from Halo.

An oddly accurate depiction of Dexter…
